Labradorite

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral with the chemical formula (Ca, Na)(Al, Si)4O8. This triclinic mineral can display an iridescent optical effect (or schiller) known as labradorescence. It can be seen as perfect cleavages and uneven to conchoidal fractures as physical properties.

Labradorite can be seen in colours such as grey, grey-white, brown, greenish-blue, pale green, blue, yellow, colourless and greenish. It can be found in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Cuba, France, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Madagascar, Mexico, Myanmar, New Zealand, Namibia, Norway, Russia, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan, Tanzania, Uk, USA, Slovakia. Especially, Canada and Madagascar are found high labradorescence stones.
